Samsung has just released their latest plan to help you identify if your Note 7 is at risk of exploding. In a soon to be released update, the battery icon located in several places on the phone will turn green if your battery is safe. After the update users can check in 3 locations: The Status Bar, the Always on Display Screen, or the Power Off Prompt screen.
In addition to software changes, all new phones shipped will have a square indicator on a label attached to the box indicating that the device has the new battery already installed.
From the press release, “Our highest priority is the safety of our customers, and we strongly urge Galaxy Note7 users to immediately participate in the replacement program based on local availability.”
